This Post Is About The Raveonettes

Since The Pains of Being Pure at Heart’s newest EP, Higher Than The Stars, came out this Tuesday, is there anything else to live for? Surprisingly, yes. At least for 12 more days. On October 6th, the next Raveonettes full-length, In And Out Of Control, will be available. To be honest, I really wasn’t expecting to like this album as much as I did.   The whole album blends topics like violence, rape, suicide, and death with the usual fuzzed-out, high reverb sound of their previous albums; but they do it with grace and a level of beauty that shows a deeper sense of melody. You may have heard “Last Dance” or “Suicide” but the album carries some great tracks that will inevitably draw less attention. I’m sure “Boys Who Rape”" will be overlooked, but it’s definitely worth a listen (or many listens).  Support the Danes and pick up a copy.
